In
Brief:
Born in Chelmsford, Richard is in his early Fifties and has
played in the Chelmsford & District league for 23 years for various
teams with much success, winning the Division One title no less than Six
times and has been runners-up on four occasions.
Richard is the League Secretary and has been for nearly twenty
years (1983). Richard started playing in 1977 in the Marconi League were
he won the Pairs tournament. Richard also plays in the Ridley's Darts
& Dominoes league in which Richard lost 2-1 in the Singles KO final
last season. Richard has a long list of memorable moments over the
years, his most special moment being in 1981 when he won the Captain and
Secretaries KO competition and his daughter Victoria was born. In his 25
year darting, Richard has won six Holiday competitions; three Friday
Club league titles plus the 180 trophy; the Witham league (with the
Swan); the Dunmow league (with the Whalebone); Ridleys league (with the
Ship); and a Yellow Advertiser Mixed Pairs game (with the Two Brewers).
Finally, I would like to add to Richard's successes, the Chelmsford
Open, in which he has organised for the past two years, and hopefully
will do again later this year.
